Montgomery Beacon celebrates Queens 90th Birthday

Montgomery Celebrates Queens 90th Birthday

21st April 2016

Montgomery celebrated the Queens 90th Birthday with a Beacon and Fireworks display on Town Hill that rises above the town.

Local farmers transported the wood for the Beacon to the top of Town Hill

Montgomery residents arrived as the sun was setting.. some walked, some arrived in 4x4's, while a select few arrived in style - on tractor drawn trailers !

Town Mayor, Eric Fairbrother, opened the ceremonies with a short speech and read a royal message from Prince Charles before leading the singing of the Welsh and National anthems

The Town Mayor had the honour of lighting the Beacon

The sky was generally overcast but as the sun finally set the horizon turned a lovely blood red orange
